A Canadian Team May Have Won Sikorsky Prize

Human-Powered Helicopter: The Canadians are one of two teams that have been working hard the past year to claim the $250,000 Sikorsky prize for the first human-powered helicopter than can fly to a height of three meters and stay aloft for at least 60 seconds. They also have to stay within a 10-square-meter area.

Official result in a week or two

The American Helicopter Society must first review the data from the flight and determine if all of the criteria were met. Team spokeswoman Meg Campbell says it will probably take “at least a week or two” to find out if they have won.
