Last August, we posted an article about the Helicopter 2050 Challenge. Organized bySikorsky, this contest invited students age 9 to 16 to come up with a vision for a helicopter that helps overcome global challenges!
Well Rotornation would like to congratulate Vance Hudson, High School student from Collierville, named grand champion in the national Sikorsky Helicopter 2050 Challenge. Shelby County Schools officials say sophomore Vance Hudson designed a semi-autonomous aircraft that could be used for humanitarian missions. Called the “S-2050”, would also help reduce carbon emissions and environmental waste.
As the grand winner, Hudson will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to Sikorsky headquarters in Connecticut.
